Palm Red Mite Management with Soursop Seed Plant Residue Extracts

Raoiella indica Hirst, 1924 (Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae), is one of the leading pest mites in palm and banana trees, however, there are few control methods available for this species. Therefore, work aimed to evaluate acaricidal effect soursop seed extract (Annona muricata L.) on R. adults. The experiment was conducted a completely randomized design using with 7 replicates 12 individuals per replicate. experimental units consisted discs coconut leaves (4 cm diameter), cotton moistened at bottom Petri dish (10.0 × 1.2 cm) around disc maintain turgor prevent from escaping. application performed an airbrush, connected calibrated compressor constant pressure 1.3 psi 1 mL solution repeat plate. evaluated 24, 48, 72 hours after spraying. Mortality data were corrected submitted Probit analysis (p ≤ 0.05) statistical program R, LC50 LC90 calculated extract. At maximum concentration (15%), showed mortality 70% indica, 6.58%.
